Places to Eat- Omaha, Nebraska

My beautiful friend Smita John is a real foodie. On one fly out we were talking about food, the whole trip and I was so fascinated. I wanted to try all these places she was talking about. I am a very picky eater but love anything salmon, cucumber and avocado. She came up with a list of places to visit before I finish my fellowship. I had to share because it’s selfish to keep such good things to yourself. I will be asking her to add other cuisine because she knows everything about food! If you are visiting Omaha or live in Omaha and wondering where to go for brunch or dinner, I am sure you will not be disappointed with any one of her choices.

Overeasy: Homemade pop tarts and cinnamon rolls?! Plus their sides are delicious. Gets busy so go early! Or go for lunch!
Bailey’s: Total hole in the wall but delicious, especially if you like eggs Benedict.
Railcar: Supposed to be a delicious brunch! I have never tried it.
Granite City: Brunch buffet!

Dinner
Bonefish Grill: Amazing seafood, I always get salmon and love the Asian sauce and the mango salsa! The bang bang shrimp appetizer is awesome too. I’ve never had anything bad. Also have steak and other options
Firebirds: My mom has had their salmon many times and loves it
Cheesecake Factory: Avocado egg roll appetizer, miso salmon and cheesecake! Need I say more?!
Charleston’s: All American menu
Biaggi’s: Great Italian food, they have seafood too!
Mark’s Bistro: A cute date night spot! Small but delicious menu!
Dario’s: Amazing French food.
Pitch Pizza: Fun pizza place, lots of fun options and it’s in Dundee and out west.
Block 16: Best for lunch! They have a salmon wrap— it’s amazing. It has a dragon sauce on it, not spicy. Just delicious! Their stuff sounds a bit strange but I’ve never had anything bad! (Downtown, limited hours but open weekends for lunch and abbreviated dinner menu)
Jazz: Louisiana cuisine! Lots of crazy seafood! Super fun place that has live music on certain evenings. My favorite thing is the Cajun stir fry! (Downtown)
Kona Grill: At Village Pointe, has a huge variety of items, sushi too. Nice happy hour!
Jams: Literally one of my favorite places. I went here nearly every year with my parents for my birthday growing up. Amazing salads and soups. Great sandwiches and the enchiladas are good too!
