What mountain are you facing? Are you going to God with a cup instead of going with the biggest dish you can find. When we are in a place of desperation, at times facing the most difficult time in our lives, we might feel trapped, under a lot of pressure, under attack by the enemy; BUT we know that the only way to survive is to draw near to GOD – from whose hand no one can snatch us. Nothing is too difficult for God. Let Him handle it.
I like the story of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20:3-4,13, 15, 17. Jehoshaphat, king of Judah was a God fearing king who found himself surrounded by a powerful army. He was sure to be destroyed without the Lord’s intervention. The bible says, “Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gathered together to ask help from the LORD; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD…. Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before the LORD” In the middle of the fasting and praying, God spoke to His people through a prophet saying, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s… You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.”
I have to remind myself daily that the battle belongs to the Lord. HE is there already fighting our battles for us. God is in the business of answering prayers. He is ‘The Great I am’ ruler of the universe. He does not sleep day or night and He is waiting for us to come to Him. Let us cry before our Lord and tell Him all our troubles, He is ready to ease the suffering because He loves us unconditionally. Whatever it is that you may be going through, its not your war, let go of the need to be in control. Leave it all to Him.
Knowing this, how can we go through life afraid, sad, depressed, lost, desperate; when we have such a God. l hope you remember these words as you go through life’s trials. Face every challenge knowing that all you have to do is Be Still. – Ciao
